The European Network of Sport Science, Education & Employment (ENSSEE) is an international non-profit association established in Luxembourg in 1989 under its former name ENSSHE (European Network of Sport Science in Higher Education). Multiple opportunities for exchanging proposals and strategic views, either via the virtual environment (web communication) or other media, events, projects, and meetings are provided. On the occasion of the 11th ENSSEE Forum, themed "Innovation and Practice" held in Paris / France, and an incorporated ENSSEE General Assembly on 26 August 2011 the following members of the Executive Board were elected for the next 2 years: President José Rodrigues (Sport Sciences School of Rio Maior - Portugal) Vice-President Karen Petry (German Sport University Cologne - Germany) General Secretary Pedro Sequeira (Sport Sciences School of Rio Maior - Portugal) Treasurer Ladislav Petrovic (ICCE/ECC – Hungary) Board Member Joan Janssens (Hanze University Groningen – Netherlands) Patrick Duffy (ICCE/ECC - Ireland; Leeds Metropolitan University - UK) Jean-Michel Pinel (INSEP – France) Co-opted Board Member Jolanta Zysko (Academy of Physical Education Warsaw – Poland) Antonín Rychtecký (Charles University – Czech Republic) Joan Palmi (INEFCataluna – Universidad de Lleida – Spain) |

In 1996, ENSSEE has been selected by the European Union to be the thematic network for research, training, and the study of qualification and employment in the field of sport. Many of the results of the activities of ENSSEE in the past five years have become standard reference and key concepts for many organisations in the sector. The list includes the European Qualification Framework for the five levels of Coach Education, Fitness, European Masters, Diplomas, and Intensive Programmes, the nomenclature of sport economic activities (NEARS) and occupations (NEORS), the report on sport employment in Europe supported by the former DG X of the European Union in 1999. Recent projects can be found under the item "activities". |
