Bachelor “Physical Activity and Lifestyle Counseling” granted PDF Print E-mail

The European Commission has granted a project application from Hanzehogeschool Groningen to introduce a new European Bachelor degree. The degree’s official name is “Physical Activity and Lifestyle Counseling” (PA-LC). The program will start in October 2010 and is scheduled for three years, finishing in September 2013.

This bachelor was thought necessary because there is a growing number of people across Europe (and beyond) who suffer from health problems due to an unhealthy lifestyle. In order to intervene this development people have to change their behavior in regards of physical activity and nutrition.

Since such changes in the people’s behavior are difficult, students doing the PA-LC bachelor will not only become experts in physical activity and nutrition, but also gain broad skills in one-on-one counseling.
